How to Build the 'Barrage Rogue' in Diablo IV

There are many build possibilities in Diablo IV but the one that stands out right now is the Barrage Rogue. What is it and how exactly is it made so that you can try it yourself? Read further to learn more.

What is It?

The "Barrage Rogue" is a build in Diablo IV that uses the Rogue class with Barrage as the main skill. If you are new to the game, Barrage is an active skill that, when used, unleashes a barrage of five arrows that expand outwards, dealing considerable amounts of damage. What's more, the projectiles fired can potentially ricochet off enemies so that you can hit multiple targets with just one cast.

To further improve Barrage's killing potential, you must have a way to generate Combo Points. For this reason, you will include Puncture as well. Each time you use Puncture, you not only deal damage to enemies but you also gain one combo point in the process.

So, the playstyle revolves around getting a few combo points with Puncture and then finishing enemies off with Barrage.

Skill Breakdown

  • Puncture

  • Barrage

  • Shadow Step

  • Dash

  • Poison Trap

  • Cold Imbuement

These are your active skills. As mentioned earlier, you will use Puncture and Barrage most of the time. However, there are certain abilities that you can use to improve the damage and feel of the build.

Shadow Step gives you a huge boost in movement speed and makes you immune to crowd control effects. This allows you to get into position for the perfect kill. Dash is also a good mobility skill. It naturally comes with two charges that you can use in quick succession, making you reach your destination much sooner.

Poison Trap lets you eliminate enemies slowly by inflicting poison and causing damage over time. Although you have to stop and set traps for a brief second, the damage of the build will skyrocket if you include the Poison Trap in your rotation.

Alternatively, if you want a more active playstyle that does not rely on damage over time, you could replace Poison Trap with Cold Imbuement. As the name suggests, this ability enables you to imbue your weapons with frigid energies, empowering your next two attacks to deal cold damage and chill enemies for 25% per hit.

In addition, you can take Enhanced Cold Imbuement to gain a 40% chance to make enemies Vulnerable for a few seconds. Vulnerable is a status effect in Diablo IV that causes affected enemies to take more damage from all sources.

Vampiric Powers

  • Ravenous

  • Flowing Veins

  • Undying

  • Prey on the Weak

  • Accursed Touch

In Diablo IV Season 2, you can add Vampiric Powers to make any build work even better than they normally would. In the case of the Barrage Rogue, you can benefit from the ones listed above.

Ravenous is one of the best of the bunch because it increases your overall attack speed, which is pretty useful for the build. If you're using Poison Trap, Flowing Veins is a perfect complement because it increases your damage over time by a whopping 60% at level 3.

If you want your foes to take increased damage at all times, then taking Prey on the Weak is a no-brainer. This causes enemies to get affected by the Vulnerable status effect whenever a Vampiric Curse from your other Vampiric Powers is active on them.

Accursed Touch not only enables you to inflict a Vampiric Curse on enemies, but it gives you a 15% chance to spread it to nearby foes as well.

And lastly, Undying is just a means to improve your survivability. Every time you use any of your skills, you will heal a small portion of your HP. The amount healed is doubled when you are below 50% of your max life.
