The survival game Enshrouded can be an unforgiving one. That is why you need to take it upon yourself to do what's necessary in order to survive.
One of the most important things that you need to establish in the game is the Workbench. In fact, I would argue that you cannot proceed to the later stages if you do not have this set up.
So, if you are looking for a guide on how you can get the Workbench, read on.
What is It?
The Workbench is an essential part of Enshrouded because this is considered as one of the first places you can craft real equipment and building pieces. This is also the place where you can repair gear, which is vital if you want to survive the harsh open world engulfed in a vile Shroud.
Some of the things that you can craft in the Workbench include the Glider, Grappling Hook, and the Construction Hammer. You can create decorative building pieces as well, such as doors, windows, and fences, to name a few.

How to Get
Now that you know what the function of the Workbench is, how exactly do you set it up? Well, you need three Strings and eight pieces of Wood Logs.
Strings can be crafted from plant fibers. If you are wondering where you can acquire some of these, you simply interact with any of the bushes and shrubs that you find in the open world.
On the other hand, Wood Logs can be obtained by chopping off trees. Equip an axe and start whacking at any trees that you may encounter during your journey.
Once you have all of the necessary pieces, open the Crafting Menu and search for the Workbench. Then, you simply click on it and you should find the finished product on your inventory.
Next, head to the Flame Altar and place the Workbench in its rightful place. Keep in mind that you cannot put the Workbench anywhere other than its designated area around the Flame Altar.
When the Workbench is in place, you can then start crafting certain pieces of gear! As you progress in the game, you will unlock new crafting recipes, some of which require the Workbench to accomplish.
