Last Epoch is slated for official release on February 21. If you are interested in playing this action RPG, then you must know some things first so that you won't go in blind. Here are some of the best tips for Last Epoch beginners:

Always Use a Loot Filter

The core premise of an action RPG is to find the best equipment possible to make your character grow stronger. That said, Last Epoch is notorious for "loot explosions" where you will be bombarded with a ton of items after slaying multiple enemies. This makes it incredibly hard for you to find some good loot.

To prevent this from happening, you must always use a loot filter. As the name implies, a loot filter prevents certain items from being displayed on screen.

The game already has some that you can enable in the interface settings. However, the Last Epoch community has made a collection of better loot filters that you can download and install easily.

To manage your loot filters, head over to Settings -> Gameplay -> and then press Shift+F.

Learn to Manage Your Inventory

In action RPGs, you only have a limited amount of space in your inventory. That is the reason why you must learn some basic inventory management, otherwise, you won't have a good time playing Last Epoch.

Fortunately, the developers know how important it is to manage one's inventory, which is why they have added some quality-of-life features that you should utilize often.

For instance, you can press the "Transfer Crafting Items" button to move all of the crafting materials you have farmed so far and put them in a dedicated inventory.

The "Sort Items" button is another handy feature that instantly arranges all of the items you have in your inventory with a single press. Make sure to utilize it often to give you ample space to put new items.

Choose the Right Class

There are five major classes to choose from in Last Epoch. Make sure to pick one that best suits your playstyle.

Sentinel is a well-balanced class that allows you to wear shields or dual-wield weapons to make quick work of the enemy.

Primalist is similar to the Druid class in Diablo IV. This enables you to utilize totems or transform into formidable beasts, offering a good mix of offense and defense.

Mage lets you harness the power of elemental magic to cast devastating spells upon your foes. What's more, this class allows you to imbue your weapons with magic, so in the event that you want to be up close and personal with the enemy, you can do that as well.

Rogue is a class that enables you to use traps to dispose of enemies or bows to attack them from afar. With this class, it is up to you whether you want to be a melee assassin or a ranged attacker.

And lastly, the Acolyte is the class that you should choose if you prefer commanding a legion of undead warriors. You can also annihilate enemies using spells that deal Poison and Necrotic damage.

So, are you going to play Last Epoch when it launches next month?
