Helldivers 2 Cheaters Have Been Ruining the Fun for Everyone

Cheaters always have the intention of ruining the experience for everyone no matter what game it is. Normally, they flock to competitive games like Overwatch 2 or Call of Duty: Warzone and use cheats to gain the upper hand.

Interestingly, a lot of players in the Helldivers 2 community have gone to Reddit to voice their concerns over cheaters running amok. That's right! People with such nefarious intentions have already flooded a PvE game!

Cheaters Running Amok

So, what type of cheats have been plaguing Helldivers 2 as of late? One of the most common, and probably the most egregious, is the cheat that involves getting a ton of Samples in each run.

Samples are a type of currency in Helldivers 2 which can be used to purchase various ship upgrades. They can be farmed by doing certain activities and any Samples that are acquired during a run are shared among the members of the group. Part of the charm of the game is to grind for these Samples, so it is quite frustrating for someone to fast-track this grind by getting boatloads on a single run.

According to Redditor ForeverDesperate 5855, cheaters have ruined their grinding experience. What happened was they partied up with some cheaters who may have activated a hack to increase the number of Samples that can be acquired. This resulted in the said Redditor gaining more than 6,000 Samples.

Another Redditor seems to have a similar experience and has called upon the developers' help to roll back their progress.

Redditor jeffQC1 has a different experience in that the cheater they have grouped up with may have used an infinite ammo hack.

What Can Be Done?

Helldivers 2 players who may have partied up with cheaters can file a support ticket to report them. Those who have similar issues with ForeverDesperate 5855 can also submit a ticket detailing what happened.

Of course, with the huge number of players enjoying this third-person shooter and only a relatively small company that manages the game, it is possible that there will be a delayed response to these tickets, so do keep that in mind.

As for a long-term solution to this problem, the developers could implement an anti-cheat system that may prevent a large chunk of these cheaters from logging into the game.
