Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Players Are ‘Unhappy’ with Updated Moogles

Moogle Redesign Deemed "Cursed"

However, not all changes are receiving praise. The updated Moogle design, especially in the Mog House, is facing severe criticism from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth fans. Described by some as "cursed," the redesigned Moogle has triggered discontent among players.

Twitch streamer Celina highlighted the collective sentiment, stating, "I follow both Japanese and American ppl here, and I love how both cultures agree that Rebirth Moogle looks cursed af." Similarly, in Japan, the design has been labeled "super creepy," with comparisons drawn to the Moogle in Final Fantasy XVI.

Moogle Makeover

Moogles, a recurring race in the Final Fantasy series, have undergone various appearances but have never been redesigned within an existing game until Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Shesez, a gaming commentator, pointed out the extensive changes to the Mog House Moogle, including alterations to eye shape, head shape, ear shape, foot shape, body shape, wing shape, arm length, fur hue, and wing color.

In the original game, the Mog House was a simple mini-game at the Golden Saucer. However, for Rebirth, it has been transformed into a fully-fledged item store and series of mini-games.
