Develop Odd Bug Studio released the announcement trailer for Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter which will be launching on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC later this year.
The game, which is a sequel to the original 2021 game, tells the story of the axe-wielding rat protagonist Arlo's crusade in the northern wastelands. The co-founder and lead designer from Odd Bug Studio, Jack Bennett, said that the latest installment is a "tail" of bloodshed and medieval revenge.

He said that they wanted to build upon what they were able to achieve in the first game and create a title that was more than just a straightforward sequel. Bennett said that the team behind the second game took on board the incredible community feedback on the original and worked on crafting a more intense experience.
Bennett also said that Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter will have new gameplay mechanics, more monster-hunting sidequests, and improved crafting and base building. He said that these will all work together to make the player's adventure more epic than before, when they took control of Redgi, according to Gematsu.
Darren Newnham, the CEO of the game's publisher United Label, said that it was exciting for them to watch Odd Bug Studio craft the new sequel to the Tails of Iron game. He added that the new title takes the violent lore of its predecessor to even higher levels in pushing the premium indie envelope.

The story of the sequel takes place after the original game and tells Arlo's story as he embarks on a violent quest for revenge against the Dark Wings' onslaught. The new game also introduces new fearsome monster-hunting sidequests against massive beasts.
The young protagonist is also capable of imbuing his weapons with a variety of new elemental effects and abilities that will aid him in slaughtering the foes that stand in his way. There are also enhanced settlement mechanics that allow Arlo to rebuild the Rats' northern garrison of Winter's Edge.
Fighting a Menacing Bat Army
In Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter, a bloodthirsty, marauding army of bats are the main antagonists. The aerial menace threatens even the most skilled rat warriors with the combination of their wings and fangs, said GamesRadar.
The sequel game features an expanded campaign and has a semi-open RPG world that spans six different biomes that players will be able to explore as well as new animal factions to discover. The game also builds on its trademark hardcore combat and features enhanced weapons gameplay.
A new day and night system has also been added to the sequel as Arlo will face a variety of enemies that differ depending on the time of day. More enemy types will be added as the player hunts down and vanquishes more and more monsters.
While Tails of Iron II: Whiskers of Winter does not have an exact release date yet, it is said to be "coming soon" to Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players can hop on and put the game on their wishlist to get notified when it launches, according to PCGamesN.
