Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Officially Reveal Collaboration for Capcom Game's Latest Fighting Pass

Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter have officially revealed their collaboration for the latter's 20th-anniversary celebration of the fighting game's latest Fighting Pass, featuring new content and cosmetics.

While the news of the collaboration was teased a few weeks ago, it was not officially confirmed to be a part of Street Fighter 6's next Fighting Pass. A new trailer showcases the new content, including the Rathalos armor set that will supposedly be the main prize for the premium rewards as well as an adorable Felyne head.

Other premium rewards include a Monster Hunter UI photo frame, map device wallpaper, titles, and stickers for the franchise crossover of two Capcom games. The new pass will include three tracks from Street Fighter 3: Second Impact.

There has been a previous collaboration between the two titles that featured the Zinogre Armor for R. Mika, Kirin armor for Ibuki, Rathalos armor for Ken, and Blanka dressed up as Nergigante in Street Fighter 5. At that time, the world warriors also jumped realms into Monster Hunter World, according to Eventhubs.

Street Fighter 6's new Fighting Pass is scheduled to launch following maintenance on Apr. 1, 2024. Similar to previous releases, the latest pass will cost players 250 Fighter Coins, which go for $5 for the premium version. However, a free pass is also included for players to grind through but with fewer rewards.

On top of the cosmetics, the new collaborative effort will add Rathalos to Street Fighter 6's Battle Hub. It would be a static presentation of the monster while it is mid-flight and players can pose with it when they are in the area.

The latest event comes after the announcement trailer for Street Fighter 6's newest upcoming DLC character, Akuma, according to Siliconera. Monster Hunter's 20th-anniversary collaboration comes after it recently revealed the newest title in the main line series that will be coming in the future, Monster Hunter Wilds.

The game, which was revealed in December last year, is believed to feature an open-world map and is expected to launch in Q1 2025. The new information comes from leaker Dusk Golem, who recently shared a few tidbits of details regarding the latest Monster Hunter title.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Probably the most controversial claim that he made was that the game will not have segmented, discrete explorable areas that were found in previous games. He noted that this was actually Capcom's objective from the start. He added that Monster Hunter Wilds has been in development since 2019.

Dusk Golem said that the latest title will include a lot of features that were scrapped from Monster Hunter World. He also claimed that the game's director, Yuya Tokuda, was given "complete freedom" for the development of Monster Hunter Wilds.

The leaker said that his source added that Monster Hunter Wilds will be "far more" experimental than Monster Hunter World. It is also said to be Capcom's by far biggest game that the company has ever attempted.

Despite the leaks and rumors, the only official detail about Monster Hunter Wilds that has come from Capcom is that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in 2025, according to Eurogamer.
