The Fallout TV show has returned the hype back to the franchise and there are many new and even returning players that are starting to dive back into the games.
While there are a lot of noteworthy titles in the Fallout franchise, probably the easiest to get into is Fallout Shelter. This is a free-to-play game that is available on a variety of platforms, including mobile.
The game focuses on a base-building theme where players take control of the leader of a group of survivors that have taken underground to escape the threats of the surface. Inside this Vault, you will have to build rooms, and elevators, gather resources, and increase your population to return some semblance of a society.
Here are some tips and tricks that will surely help you whether you're a newcomer to the franchise or a returning player who has probably forgotten how the entire game works. Since its release, Fallout Shelter has also gotten a lot of updates, according to MakeUseOf.

Plan Ahead
Players who are only just getting into Fallout Shelter will most likely just place their rooms wherever without thinking too hard. However, to fully maximize space, it is better to plan ahead and see how your base will function if certain facilities are built next to others or how far they are to the entrance of the Vault.
The majority of rooms in the game can be expanded and merged together and while elevators provide access to different floors, traveling can be slow if the base is improperly built. Each floor in the Vault has enough room for two elevators, two three-block rooms, and one two-block room.

Expand With Caution
Many people who have played strategy games may be tempted to quickly expand and grow their base in order to get more things done. However, this can have consequences in Fallout Shelter as a bigger base means more electricity consumption.
Larger rooms need more power to run, which means that you need to space your reactors evenly to make them efficient. Facilities that are not used still eat through your electricity supply, so avoid building facilities you don't need yet, said DigitalTrends.
Mitigating Disasters
The surface isn't the only place where danger lurks and even a well-built Vault can fall victim to unintended accidents or sudden attacks. In Fallout Shelter, players will have to be wary of potential fires, Radroach infestations, or even Deathclaw attacks.
While dwellers who are in the area where the incident occurs will work on addressing it, providing help by transferring other dwellers into the room can make things go faster. If the issue is not taken care of quickly, it could spread to adjacent rooms.
On top of the titular Deathclaw creatures, players can sometimes be attacked by raiders who will try to steal your resources for their benefit. The best way to deal with either of these is to keep well-armed and strong dwellers near the entrance of the Vault. This is because it is the only way that they can go through, according to Eurogamer.
