Pathfinder War of Immortals Heralds Death of the God of War, Adds New Classes

Pathfinder War of Immortals is bringing two new classes and will also herald the death of the God of War, Gorum.

The creator of the game, Paizo, announced the new meta-even as the tabletop adventure game is fresh off a highly-anticipated refresh of the game's 2nd edition ruleset. The War of Immortals, on top of killing a god, will span multiple rulebooks and restart the publisher's line of hardcover novels.

The new meta-event will also introduce the first two original classes that were built following Paizo's formal departure from the legacy Dungeons & Dragons ruleset and the OGL. A 240-page hardcover rulebook is at the center of the new narrative arc and is expected to come in October.

This will introduce so-called "mythic rules" for Pathfinder Second Edition that should function similarly to past mythic-tier content. These represented ways to make players' high-level characters stand out with powerful boons and abilities, according to Polygon.

The news release also gave more information regarding the two new classes that will be added, known as the animist and the exemplar. It says that these are the first original classes built on the remastered foundation of Pathfinder Player Core.

Paizo moved their game off of Wizards of the Coast's Open Game License, allowing the original version of Pathfinder Second Edition to use some legacy materials from D&D. The development came after the Wizards of the Coast's attempts to change that very agreement.

The publishing company is now releasing its fantasy tabletop RPG under its own license, which is called the Open RPG Creative (ORC) License. The situation comes as Pathfinder Lost Omens: Divine Mysteries, came in March.

This is a hardcover setting book which was called the new guide to all things holy and unholy in Golarion. It remasters current Pathfinder deities in the setting while also introducing new gods; Aleph, the god of darkness, and Nin, the god of vampires, said ICv2.

Two New Classes

In Pathfinder War of Immortals, players will face a world that hangs in the balance as all of existence is soon to be threatened. With the animist, players become the interlocutor between the seen and unseen as well as the voice that connects the mortal and the spiritual.

With this new class, you can hold your powers as a sacred trust to be kept free of ego and personal desire. The key attribute of this class is that at 1st level, it gives players an attribute boost to Wisdom.

On the other hand, the exemplar has a fragment of divinity that rests within their bodies, granting them abilities that reach into the realm previously reserved only for heroes and legends.

The key ability of the exemplar is Strength or Dexterity and at 1st level, players gain the ability to boost their choice of either attribute. The exemplar has 10 Hit Points plus the player's Constitution modifier.

The exemplar is basically a demigod, or at least what a demigod used to be and is a class that is marked as "rare," according to Bell of Lost Souls.
