Xbox One 'FIFA 14' Bundle for £329 Spotted at UK Retailer

Xbox One FIFA 14 Bundle Spotted at UK Retailer

An online posting at UK retailer Overclockers has revealed an Xbox One FIFA 14 bundle at a discounted price. The console and game are available for £329, which is £100 less than the system cost at launch. The Xbox One received a permanent price cut in the UK during February, trimming the console's retail price to £399.

There's no word on this deal making it to other regions, though I wouldn't expect it to come to North America. Football is the world's most global game and its popularity is growing in the US, but I'm still not sure Microsoft would prioritize FIFA if it were to bundle another game at a huge discount.

The Xbox One has seen several price drops already, including several bundle packages that come with a game for less than the original launch cost. A Titanfall bundle launched last month alongside the release of the title in an effort to push both the system and copies of the game, though PlayStation 4 still outsold Xbox One during March.

We might see another bundle released with a title aimed more at the American audience, and it is possible we get a FIFA package (though I still think unlikely). The game does sell well in the US, and with the World Cup approaching interest in the sport might be at a high Microsoft would like to capitalize on.

The need for multiple price drops and bundles so soon after launch is not something Microsoft will be happy with, though some believe Xbox One is just getting started. The console trails the PS4 by more than two million units sold, which is a wide gap at this early stage. Consumers can reap the benefits for now though with discounts of up to $100, and it remains to be seen if a permanent price drop is something Microsoft will need to resort to soon.
