New 'Fallout 4' Update Alongside Series Season 2 Drop
Bethesda Game Studios heard the pleas of gamers and dropped the latest "Fallout 4" update for fans and players to download, releasing the patch notes over at X.
The company dropped this latest December 2025 patch alongside the release of Amazon Prime Video's "Fallout" season 2, which has been widely anticipated by fans.
The latest patch applies to the issues gamers found when the "Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition" bombed the original game and brought significant issues to the experience.
The latest patch notes detail the many specific targets of the update that will help fix the gaming experience, especially after facing a massive wave of bad reviews on Steam because of the issues.
Some of the issues Bethesda fixed include the missing Creation Club content Bundles add-on for Steam, as well as recognizing the Creation Club content save files from older "Fallout 4" builds.
The patch notes also addressed the crashing issue when downloading Creations to one's device, but Bethesda claims that this problem is more prevalent on the PlayStation 4 and PS5 platforms.
As of writing, this December 2025 update for "Fallout 4" is only available for the Steam PC platform, and consoles will have to wait for 2026 to see the patch go live for download.
I don't see the expansion for mod storage mentioned? Was this patch rushed out without storage increase to coincide with the release of Fallout season 2 tonight?!? I'll need to see this patch tested by .@JuiceHead33 and/or .@G27Status before I return to Fallout 4!!!

Fans Are Not Happy With 'Fallout 4' Update
Based on the replies on Bethesda's patch notes release via X, many fans and players are still unhappy with the latest "Fallout 4" December 2025 patch as there are many other issues that are still left.
Users who have replied to Bethesda's post list many other specific issues they found in the game that the company has yet to address.
One user asked Bethesda if they had tested the update before releasing it, particularly as they were stuck on the loading screen for a long time without any progress being made.
Moreover, this same user claimed that three quarters of their bookmarked mods are not showing up in the game, and they are still facing the same problems as before.
There were several users who commented that their game crashes when they launch a new load order, and it goes into a restart loop when loading the said order.
Another comment mentioned the massive promise from Bethesda which centers on the 100GB mod storage expansion that the company revealed before.
However, it is important to note that this is still missing because the update that brings this is slated for next year.
