Arrowhead's "Helldivers 2" kicks off its second 2026 warbond, Siege Breakers, on February 3, introducing players to new explosive gear designed to dominate the battlefield.
The star of the update is the CQC-20 Breaching Hammer, a sledgehammer with optional explosive charges that turns close-quarters combat into a chaotic spectacle.
CQC-20 Breaching Hammer: Smash or Blast
The CQC-20 might be flashy, but it's equally devastating in combat. Players can swing for traditional melee damage or attach explosive charges for fiery destruction.
Trailers show Helldivers bonking automaton enemies with the hammer's explosive head, leaving a dramatic blast behind. Quick reloads allow for rapid successive attacks, keeping gameplay fast paced and cinematic. This weapon looks fun to use, and it's a menace in melee encounters.
New Gear in Siege Breakers
The Siege Breakers warbond also expands the arsenal with powerful additions, according to Rockpapershotgun.
- LAS-16 Trident – Returns with six fireable beams, doubling offensive potential
- GL-28 – Belt-fed grenade launcher for tactical explosive support
- EAT-411 Leveller – Missile launcher with strategic utility
- Defensive Gear – Spherical projectile-blocking shield and two armor sets: SA-8 Ram (heavy) and SA-7 Headfirst (medium), both providing stamina regeneration when taking damage
If you have these tools, you'll be able to survive longer, strategize, and stay aggressive across chaotic battlefield scenarios.
If you're planning to jump right away onto the "Helldivers 2" bandwagon, it's never too late. Apparently, the developer has ditched its PC install size thanks to the new "Slim" update.
The 85% reduction in install size is a huge help for players with limited storage space on their PCs. If you have an older version of the game, that won't go away easily, but it's expected to be sidelined in the near future.
The Slim update is better because you won't experience any downsides. The loading times have improved on top of the decreased install size.
