'Pokemon Champions' Goes Digital-Only And It Might Be Paywall: Will

A key feature in the franchise is making its grand return to "Pokémon Champions" after being removed by Game Freak from "Pokémon Legends: Z-A."

'Pokémon Champions' Brings Back Key Feature to Battles

ComicBook Gaming reported that "Pokémon Champions" will be an anticipated game in the franchise because it is bringing back a key feature for Mega Evolution Pokémons when it releases.

This key feature is known as Mega Evolution Abilities, and these are the same abilities that different kinds and species of Pokémon have, each unique to a certain creature in the game.

There are many Abilities in the Pokémon franchise, which trainers take into consideration when building their teams alongside types, skills, and more for battle.

While Abilities already differ for each Pokémon and could only be discovered upon catching it (or when they take effect during the start of the battle), Mega Evolution Pokémons will get new Abilities when they transform.

'Pokémon Legends: Z-A' Missed Out On This

According to the report, while "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" did not exactly remove Mega Evolution Abilities from Pokémon introduced in Generation VI ("Pokémon Omega Ruby and Sapphire"), those who are new to mega evolving (those only introduced in Gen. 9) did not get theirs.

Game Freak did not give the new Mega Evolution Pokémons on "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" their special Mega Evolution Abilities or new Abilities that the creatures gain when they transform to their mega-evolved forms.

This includes new Mega Evolutions like Mega Feraligatr, Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, Mega Greninja, Mega Delphox, Mega Chesnaught, and more.

"Pokémon Champions" can receive "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" Pokémons via Pokémon Home, but it does more than add these creatures to one's party. It will also improve the Mega Evolution experience that players missed out on.
