Call of Duty 2014 Revealed Early as 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare', Trailer is a Go [VIDEO]

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bursting at Seams With Hi-Tech Equipment and Kevin Spacey

Looks like Activision just couldn't contain itself, because ahead of the scheduled reveal originally set for this Sunday, May 4, a trailer has just been released for the next game in the Call of Duty franchise, dubbed Advanced Warfare, due out this November.

As opposed to the rumored WWI backdrop, Advanced Warfare throws gamers several years into the future judging by the some of the shiny new gear: helicopters sporting light bending camoflauge, exo-suits allowing for bounding leaps and tremendous displays of strength, holographic displays, hover bikes, and a whole lot of angry diatribe by Kevin Spacey in a fairly modern suit, hinting at the game's plot.

With that video hinting at the influence held by PMC's, my guess is that Spacey is the CEO of one such enterprising organization, and he'll use it in a bid for power, whereupon presumably only you, the player, can stop him. Lather, rinse, repeat. Granted, it sounds a bit like a cliché, but that accusation has been lobbed at the Call of Duty franchise for years now and has yet to slow it down.

We've heard very little about this game in the last few months. Most of what did surface was mostly through rumors and job listings, but it looks like it won't be too dissimilar from the Modern Warfare series, what with all this high end gear. Not a big surprise really, considering that MW3 developer Sledgehammer Games is taking on Advanced Warfare, so maybe they'll be able to throw a few curves our way, instead of something predictable.

It's early yet, so there's obviously still a lot that we don't know about Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, save that it'll release this November 4 to unspecified platforms. Watch the trailer below and see what you think. We'll provide more information as it comes to light.
