'Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain' News: The Boss To Appear? Voice Actress's Tweets Tease Possibility [VIDEO]

Rumors Swirl Of The Boss Making An Appearance In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Most gamers have been fairly occupied with the fair amount of replayability of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, so much so that it's easy to forget that the full course that Ground Zeroes was the appetizer for is still on the way in the form of The Phantom Pain, and now, it looks like there's an intriguing rumor circulating for the Ground Zeroes follow up.

Case Turns Your Phone Into Metal Gear Solid 5's iDroid, Coming in October

As anyone who's played Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater knows, The Boss was a pivotal character in Big Boss's life, which makes her a big part of the series, despite only appearing in a single game. So with The Phantom Pain set to close the loop on the games with Big Boss as the central role, it wouldn't be a big leap to expect The Boss to appear in some sort of a flashback sequence. And it looks like that might just be the case.

There's some interesting tweets coming from the Twitter account of The Boss's voice actress, Lori Alan. Nothing's been outright stated, but the one conversation that got the speculation started was one that tagged a number of other MGS voice actors, past and present, Alan included. When asked if she was working on The Phantom Pain, or if she'd appear in some sort of flashback sequence, Alan tease, "maaaaaaybe so?!?:-)))"

There's no sign of Lori over at the game's IMDB page, but that's not exactly conclusive of non-involvement either. Kojima's been fairly crafty about keeping things quiet on what's alleged to be the final Metal Gear game.

We'll keep you posted if anything comes through any official channels. In the meantime, check out Alan's performance as The Boss in one of the final scenes of Metal Gear Solid 3 below:
