'Batman Arkham Knight' News: Explosive New Look At Batmobile, Villain's Voice Actor Revealed? [SCREEN, VIDEO]

New Batman: Arkham Knight Image Shows an Unstoppable Batmobile, and Rumor Points Back to Jason Todd As Arkham Knight's Identity

More and more, the caped crusader's car is shaping up to be the star of Batman: Arkham Knight instead of the dark knight himself. In just about every piece of media that developer Rocksteady has provided, the batmobile takes center stage, and that tradition is continuing with the latest image.

'Source' Claims Upgraded Grapnel Gun for Batman: Arkham Knight, Game Close To Half Way Completed, And Kevin Conroy Describes Experience So Far

We've seen the batmobile turn on a dime, drive on walls, and launch over obstacles. But why launch over something when you could just as easily drive right through it. That's exactly what the batmobile does in the image above, showing that the true star of Arkham Knight is nothing to be trifled with. Like we saw in the trailer, this thing is a commuter's dream, blasting through every last Ford P.O.S in Gotham City, making traffic jams the last thing Bats will ever have to worry about.

But there's more to the image than just the batmobile. Look off to the left, and you'll notice the GCPD building. Perhaps a visitable location like in Origins? But more interesting than the HQ for Gotham's finest? Look at the skies. Typically, just like his namesake, Bats only comes out at night. But if you look on high, you'll notice the time in the pic has to be right around early evening. You can see the colors of the sun setting, with shades of orange off in the back, and even light blue peeking through scattered clouds. We've been led to believe that like previous games in the series, Knight takes place over the course of one loooooong night, but maybe there's some kind of day/night cycle in place for Knight after all?

Some Closer Looks at Batman: Arkham Knight's Villains, Batmobile, and the Enormity of Gotham City

Beyond the picture, there's a new rumor out for the identity of Arkham Knight's titular villain. A YouTuber noticed that IMDB had updated its page for Arkham Knight, and had listed one Jenson Ackles for the role. Bat-fans might remember the name as the voice for Jason Todd/Red Hood in the 2010 animated movie, "Batman: Under the Red Hood." That of course got the mill turning that Ackles would be reprising his role.

Given Todd's role in the comics in the last few years, he had been considered as a major possibility for the man under Arkham Knight's mask, but Rocksteady hasn't confirmed the new and wholly original character's identity.

The only problem is that at the time of this publishing, Arkham Knight's page doesn't list Ackles as a talent, nor does Ackles' page list Knight as a part of his collected works, suggesting that perhaps the listing was in error, or some kind of gag. Whichever the case, mum's the word from Rocksteady.

Batman: Arkham Knight is set to release for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One later this year. Check out the announcement trailer below
