'Tomodachi Life' Free Download Friend Codes: Invite A Heteronormative Couple To Your Island! [VIDEO]

'Tomodachi Life' Offers Free Download Friend Codes

Nintendo is having a bad month. The titan of the industry, once the gold standard, has been under fire for its lack of understanding of different lifestyles, and the Wii U continues to be a non-starter as people just are not that interested. Which is sad, because they really should be. Nintendo, the beacon of your youth, needs a win.

Today, Nintendo has announced that every full version of their new game, Tomadochi Life, will launch with two, yes two! download codes for the Tomadochi Life: Welcome Version. This version of the game allows users who own a 3DS or 2DS access to the Mii creator software that comes with the full version of Tomadochi Life. People gifted the codes are allowed to create up to three separate and unique Miis. Per the press release:

"Two lucky friends or family members will be able to try their hand at creating Mii characters, all with their own unique voices and personality traits, and once the Mii characters have moved onto the island they will start to interact and players can try to solve their problems."

Sounds good for your friends, but what about you? Well, when the Welcome Version of the game is completed, players unlock a rare panda suit (which is kind of a redundant phrase, don't you think?) which will become available for purchase on the Nintendo E-Shop.

Tomadochi Life expands Nintendo's already popular Mii service and gives the now mute Miis personality. Miis can now sing, act and dance, feel 'emotions' and they will, of course, know now why you cry, but it is still something they can never do. Players can control an entire island of personalized Miis, which will inevitably lead most towards a Hunger Games and/or Lord of the Flies 'may the best man live' situation.

Tomadochi Life hits the shelves on June 6. On a completely unrelated note, a Pennsylvania judge just deemed the state's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional.
