'Space Hulk Deathwing' Screens Released: See Unreal Engine 4-Powered Alien Life And Destroy It In Sci-Fi Actioner

'Space Hulk Deathwing' Screenshots Released

Sadly, it is not the adaptation of Planet Hulk we've all been dying for. Games Workshop, creators of the legendary Warhammer 40,000, has released several new screenshots for the upcoming first person shooter adaptation of their Space Hulk franchise, called Space Hulk: Deathwing. The fine folks at Games Workshop are nothing if not direct.

Space Hulk Difficulty Is A Tough Selling Point

Based on the popular Space Hulk turn-based strategy board, PC and iOS game, Space Hulk: Deathwing puts players '[in] the role of a Space Marine from one of the most secret and most feared Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels. Strap on your Terminator armour and equip the emblematic weaponry of the Space Marines to overcome the threats awaiting you in the Space Hulk. As a Librarian, you will also master the destructive powers of the Psykers. Your skills and performance in battle grant you Fervor Points, to spend on 4 skill trees allowing you to improve your abilities, unlock new powers, access powerful relics and devastating new weapons.'

Developer Streum On Studio, which is utilizing the Unreal 4 engine for the game, has released the first in a series of screenshots for the game, in which the player's avatar, a Deathwing Librarian, leads his squad of Terminators deeper and deeper into the titular Space Hulk against a force of ominously named Genestealers.

Whispering Willows Horror Puzzler Set To Release Soon

Published by Focus Home Interactive and co-produced by Cyanide Studio, Space Hulk: Deathwing offers players the chance to experience a desperate battle against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk, as they will gain skills, new abilities and new equipment thanks to experience earned during perilous missions.

No word on a release date. But if you need your claustrophobic, alien-esque fix, you can always download the original Space Hulk turn based strategy game on Steam and iOS. If sci-fi isn't your bag, how about trying Warhammer Quest for your iPhone?
