Android KitKat 4.4.3 Released On Multiple Google Play Smartphones Including HTC One and Galaxy S4, Update Coming To Other Devices Soon

The long-awaited Android KitKat 4.4.3 update has finally started to hit devices, meaning many of those using Nexus and other phones will be getting the needed fixes soon.

HTC Sales Down From Last Month And 2013 Despite One M8 Launch

The last Android version had a variety of issues on multiple devices that needed to be patched, thus leading to a waiting game for 4.4.3. The release was rumored multiple times with some false alarms, but Android Police  reported yesterday that many users began receiving the update.

Owners of the Google Play Editions of the HTC One M7 and the Galaxy S4 were among the first to report the patch, and the rest of the GPE devices are expected to follow. The HTC official developer page posted the 4.4.3 open source kernels for the One and One M8 as well, presumably meaning they're ready to go and should be arriving shortly.

iOS 8 Officially Revealed, First Details Announced

The Sony Z Ultra, the Moto G, and the LG G Pad 8 should expect the update to arrive as well, so keep checking your phone for a notification.

KitKat 4.4.3 will address the following bugs and issues:

- Camera focus in regular and HDR modes fixes
- Power Manager display wakelock fix
- Multiple Bluetooth fixes
- Fix for a random reboot

- MMS, Email/Exchange, Calendar, People/Dialer/Contacts, DSP, IPv6, VPN fixes
- Stuck in activation screen fix
- Missed call LED fix
- Subtitle fixes
- Data usage graph fix
- Internet telephony fix
- FCC compliance fix
- Miscellaneous fixes
