Grim Fandango Remake Coming To PC, Mac, And Linux After All - No Longer PS4 & Vita Exclusive

Manny Calavera returns from the grave! Double Fine has just revealed that the HD remake of Grim Fandango, one of the best adventure games of all time, is coming back to the platform it first appeared on, as well as Mac and Linux.

Grim Fandango Remake Revealed At E3 With Hysterical Trailer

This is undoubtedly good news for PC gamers, who were all fired up about the recent announcement at this year's E3 that the game would be coming exclusively to PS4 and Vita. However, it now appears that is merely a console exclusive.

"Reap your heart out!" Double Fine stated in a tweet. "We're pleased to announce Grim Fandango will also be available on PC, Mac, and Linux alongside PlayStation 4 and Vita!"

The Witcher Adventure Game Closed Beta Launches

Is there no chance that the game will come out for Xbox One or the Wii U? Not likely, if Sony is helping foot the bill. But never say never!

There's still no firm details on just what this new version will have- will it be a straight port, just updated with new graphics? Will it tackle the only valid criticism anyone has ever had about the game (its controls)? Will the Vita version be amazing and will you feel like a million bucks walking around playing this clasic game? The last is likely, but we can't wait to hear more about this remake.

In any case, there's room for nothing but joy here. Grim Fandango really is one of the most remarkable video games ever made, and soon a whole new generation of gamers can find that out for themselves. For more on the creation of this wonderful title check out this excellent short film about its creation from 2 Player Productions, the same guys who are creating the (so far, excellent!) documentary detailing the production of Double Fine's Broken Age.
