The apocalypse is funny! This is basically the premise behind Sunset Overdrive, an Xbox One exclusive open-world shooter. Let's take a look behind the scenes with creative director Drew Murray (a bearded man).

Sunset Overdrive Character Customization Looks Amazing

Sunset Overdrive basically looks gorgeous for one, but the colors and sense of speed and freedom showcased in this trailer can't help but give you the feeling of an incredibly fun game focused on no-nonsense good times delivery.

Your main character will be fully customizable in looks, race, gender, outfits, and weaponry. Two particularly fun weapons are a vinyl record shooter (for those impromptu Shaun of the Dead recreations) and the Redneck Rampage reminiscent teddy bear rocket launcher.

Sunset Overdrive Gets An Awesome Mondo Poster

The game's main story places you as a custodial crew member who has to clean up after a new energy drink launch party. Unfortunately, the new drink also turns people into Nemesis from Resident Evil style mutants.

Creative director Drew Murray argues, why should the apocalypse be dark and sad, as we've seen in countless other games (except Fallout maybe)? If there's no tomorrow, why not live all you can today? If the sunset is coming... why not go into overdrive???

Sunset Overdrive is an Xbox One exclusive, dropping on October 28 in North America and October 31 in Europe.
