Transformers Universe News: Major PVP Overhaul, See Optimus & Megatron Record Game VOs [VIDEO]

Older Players Tend To Favor Decepticons, Griefing In Transformers: Universe

Has the war on Cybertron been resulting in a lot of ragequits for you due to Transformers: Universe's unbalanced PVP, or do you perhaps feel like there's no challenge at all anymore? Developer Jagex hears you.

Transformers: Universe Update Adds Macro & Firebreaker

In a recent blog post, Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard has laid out some of the major changes upcoming to Transformers: Universe. The biggest is an overhaul in the PVP matchmaking system, its brokenness attributed to a 60/40 split in favor of Autobots over Decepticons, with older, more elite players often choosing the villainous robots' side.

On the other hand, newbies getting creamed have a tendency to quit the game forever after a few humiliating defeats. This severely hampers the game's growth, of course. Jagex is now implementing an automatic level-up system for players who are matched to opponents out of their league. Why even bother levelling up your Commanders, then?

Says Gerhard: "Players that have levelled their Commander choose what tuning points to allocate against respective tuning attributes, as well as which power cores they wish to equip. An 'up-levelled player' doesn't; they will automatically be assigned a varied set of tuning point increases in line with their bot class. As such, it will still always be optimal for players to level their Commander in order to have the choice of where their points go, and of course, let's not forget about the prestige and your ranking on the global high scores."

Additionally, a new tutorial is planned in two weeks to help ease new players into the game. Several more bots including Chromia and Flamewar are coming in the next month, and October 1 will see the "Recon" game mode.
