Prometheus 2 Story Will Feature No Aliens Of The Xenomorph Kind, Blade Runner 2 Happening Says Ridley Scott
Alien, Gladiator, Blade Runner... Ridley Scott seemed to have a Midas touch for a while. After a streak of projects that were mostly received as middling at best, the whole geek world was anxiously awaiting his return to the Alien universe he helped birth with Prometheus. The results were... middling at best. Now the old sir has given us an update on the sequel that is apparently happening, plus confirmation of another sequel decades in the making.
Talking to Yahoo! Movies, Sir Ridley claimed: "The beast is done. Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, 'I want to do it, it's fantastic'. But after four, I think it wears out a little bit. There's only so much snarling you can do. I think you've got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we've found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start."
On Blade Runner 2: "It's on the charts. I can't say when that would be yet, because of [Harrison Ford's] thing with Star Wars. It's a sequel - it's what happens next. It's quite surprisingly clever."
Prometheus 2: The Further Adventures Of Faith Scientist And The Amazing Trollhead is scheduled for a March 4, 2016 release.
