Assassin's Creed Rogue Details: Protagonist Shay Cormac Gets Access To A New Arsenal Of Weapons When He Joins The Templars

Shay Cormac's Weapons Become A Lot More Powerful Once He's With The Templars

Every Assassin is deadly and has a solid collection of weapons to supplement their lethal skill set. As an Assassin, Assassin's Creed Rogue's Shay Cormac is no exception. As a Templar, his arsenal gets a much-needed facelift with brand new weapons designed to make him deadlier than ever.

Assassin's Creed Unity Introduces Weird 'Time Anomalies' That Take Arno Into WWII-Era Paris

In Assassin's Creed Rogue, Shay begins the game as a productive member of the Assassin Brotherhood, and he's likewise equipped with all of the traditional Assassin trappings. He's got hidden blades, rope darts, throwing knives, pistols and sleep darts. There's nothing too groundbreaking here, but just wait until Shay breaks rank and joins up with Haytham and his Templars.

With the Templars, Shay has access to the best weapons money can buy in the era, and this is meant literally. The Templar's deep pockets allow Shay to have access to weapons like the firecracker dart, which sounds like a ranged version of the firecrackers Adéwalé used in Freedom Cry to draw guards' attention away from himself. Bombs – or, more accurately, grenades – are also making a return from their debut in Revelations thanks to Shay's grenade launcher.

With the grenade launcher, players have access to several different grenades with many useful functions. The sleep grenade will allow Shay to knock out groups of enemies from a distance. The berserk grenade will allow him to set off a chain of mayhem as those hit by the explosion turn on their allies. Finally, the shrapnel grenade is available for some good old fashioned burst damage.

Assassin's Creed Rogue will be coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11. A PC version has been confirmed for an early 2015 release.
