Preview of IMAX Scenes in 'Dark Knight Rises' New Trailer, Avengers Debut

The Avengers film debut will surely bring in fans for both the movie and The Dark Knight Rises new and third trailer.

The latest Batman movie trailer will be hitting theatres with the Avenger's debut on May 4.  Fans will be treated to new glimpses of the caped crusader along with his rival Bane and possible new romance partner Catwoman.

Recent reports also indicate that The Dark Knight Rises will have over an hour of IMAX footage.  Director Christopher Nolan spoke about the use of IMAX filming and pushing technology in film making.

"Warner Bros. would have been very happy, but I said to the guys there that I wanted it to be stylistically consistent with the first two films and we were really going to push the IMAX thing to create a very high-quality image," said Nolan.

"But, in each case, as a filmmaker who's been given sizable budgets with which to work, I feel a responsibility to the audience to be shooting with the absolute highest quality technology that I can and make the film in a way that I want...When I look at a digitally acquired and projected image, it looks inferior against an original negative anamorphic print or an IMAX one," added the director.

Nolan will look to ensure quality and bringing a grandiose epic conclusion to the final chapter of the Dark Knight trilogy.  The IMAX cameras will be use instrumentally in capturing emotion and action that contributes to the storytelling.  Nolan is careful in selecting the right scenes that will add punch with IMAX's ability to display higher resolution images than conventional film cameras.

In his last Batman movie "The Dark Knight," Nolan included 40 minutes of IMAX footage.  Particular scenes tacked on extra wow-factor points as IMAX cameras captured scenes such as Batman sky diving down a skyscraper in Hong Kong.  Also, fans got a gigantic close-up glimpse of the Joker's face in the film's opening bank robbery scene, thanks to IMAX.

The Dark Knight Rises is reported to include over an hour of IMAX footage, which will offer plenty of action sequence opportunities. From past trailers, some probable candidates include the large brawl in front of a snowy courthouse steps where Bane and Batman battle amongst a crowd of chaos.

Nolan's new line of vehicles could deserve an IMAX shot.  One quick clip revealed a new Batwing plane tailgating a fleet of camouflaged Batmobiles. At the end of the first trailer, fans witnessed a hulking Bane back down a retreating Batman.  More IMAX scene assumptions will emerge after The Dark Knight Rises third trailer hits theatres.
