'Dark Knight Rises' New Trailer Becomes an Internet Sensation

The newest trailer of The Dark Knight Rises was released, revealing insightful scenes of how the last piece of the Christopher Nolan's epic Batman trilogy would end.

A viral Internet campaign was launched on its official website Monday, unlocking screenshots of the previous for the trailer. The entire trailer became available by the end of the day. The third official trailer revealed more scenes on the masked villain Bane, Catwoman / Selina Kyle, and  Batman along with his new flying vehicle.  YouTube's "The Dark Knight Rises Official Trailer #3" has racked up over 1.2 million views since its upload a day ago.

"There is a storm coming," says Selina Kyle to Bruce Wayne as the trailer opens up. When Wayne comments that she seems to be looking forward to the storm, Selina replies, "I'm adaptable."

The new trailer gives a better perspective on the evilness of Bane.

When defeated Wayne lies on the ground helplessly and asked Bane why he didn't kill him, Bane answers, "your punishment must be more severe."

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tom Hardy, who played Bane's role in the film, explained that Bane, unlike the previous villain Joker, is very meticulous and calculated villain who can also give physical threat to Batman.

"The Joker didn't care. He just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy," said Hardy. "Bane is not that guy. There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane. There is a huge orchestration of organization to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman."

"There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He's a very clean, clear villain," said Hardy.

One noticeable improvement in the new trailer is the adjustment in Bane's voice. Christopher Nolan seemed to have noticed the nagging complaints in earlier trailers of the incomprehensible voice of Bane, making significant improvement in the third trailer.

The 140-second trailer also features a mid-air plane heist by Bane, Wayne and Kyle dancing, sinking football field, Bane's henchmen holding up a stock exchange, Gotham citizens witnessing two bridges blown to kingdom come, Wayne locking lips with actress Marion Cotilliard, and more.

And as for the vehicle, Batman gets at least one more in addition to the Batpod. And this one, dubbed The Bat, flies.

"My mother warned me about getting into cars with strangers," says Catwoman.

As Batman replies, "this isn't a car," as the new vehicle soar across Gotham's rooftops.

The Dark Knight Rises will hit the theaters on July 20.  For now, enjoy the film's official third trailer.
