Redbox, the video game rental kiosk has revealed that they will rent out only the first disc of Max Payne 3 Xbox 360 when the game finally gets released on 15th May.
"Only disc 1 available. Disc 1 includes the first half of single player game and the multiplayer portion of the game," as posted by Redbox in their retail page for Max Payne 3 Xbox 360.
Max Payne 3 is broken down into two discs for the Xbox 360 and the PC version. The first disc includes the first half of the story with the multiplayer modes whereas the Story Mode is made available on the second disc.
According to Redbox corporate policy, they do not carry a multidisc title which is why, the company will be renting only the first disc if gamers are planning to rent it through the local Redbox kiosk.
"Redbox kiosks are only equipped to rent out one disc per rental fee. Since customer feedback has told us that many of our game customers like to test out titles before they buy them, we've decided to offer Disc 1 of Max Payne 3 for Xbox 360 so that renters can try it out for a low daily rate," as told by a Redbox representative to The Consumerist.
"We think that's a great deal for just a couple of dollars a day and we're excited to offer it! We've added a message on the website and on kiosk screens to let renters know about the limited game-playing", the representative added.
The game features cutting edge shooting mechanics for precision gunplay with advanced new Bullet Time and Shootdodge effects. The game has been integrated with Natural Motion's Euphoria Character Behavior system for lifelike movement. It includes a dark and twisted story developed by Rockstar Games.
For those looking to buy, Max Payne 3 has been receiving positive reviews thus far. The replay value could be worth it as Rockstar introduces a new multiplayer mode. Players can battle with Bullet Time while blasting at one another in slow motion. Gang Wars is a mode where gamers setup gangs and go round for round with other rival crews. Rockstar also announced that crews can be inter-played in both Max Payne 3 and the company's other game title Grand Theft Auto 5.
Most fans have already pre-ordered the highly anticipated Max Payne 3. For those looking to sample the game, Redbox is the best bet.
