YouTube user Tommda posted the trailer, which gives us a look at the returning villain Frieza. Alongside some well-known and newer characters, Frieza appeared on the movie's poster, and (given the title of the film) appears set for a return from the dead.

Just how this resurrection is accomplished is of course unclear at this time--Frieza was originally defeated by Goku on Namek, kept alive through advanced cybernetics, and then promptly defeated by Trunks on the Saiyan's series debut. There are only a few hints in the trailer, such as whatever green mystery liquid Frieza appears to be rising from, but he clearly plans to threaten Earth with a small army. As the series went on the heroes easily eclipsed Frieza's power, so there will need to be a good reason that the villain is a threat at this stage of the show's history.

Battle of Gods characters Lord Beerus and Whis will be present as well, given their presence on the poster, and their role is a mystery as well. The trailer doesn't answer the many questions fans will have about the plot, but does serve as a good teaser for the action--enjoy! The Resurrection of F will open on April 15, 2015, in Japan. Battle of Gods was shown in theaters in the U.S., but no similar plans have yet been announced for the upcoming film.
