New The Witcher 3 Trailer Highlights The Wild Hunt, The Sequel's Mysterious Nazgul-Like Villains [VIDEO]

Latest Witcher III Trailer Gives Us A Look At The Nazgul-esque Wild Hunt, The Game's Main Villains

CD Projekt Red is making the wait for the next Witcher game unbearable. The game developer has released a new trailer for the upcoming third entry over the weekend and it has us positively salivating.

Forge Your Own Nemesis With The Latest Shadow Of Mordor Trailer From The Game Awards

Contrary to what some newcomers may suspect, the Wild Hunt is not the name of an event but rather a group of supernatural Elves who roam the countryside. The cadre of armored warriors has been seen briefly in both previous Witcher games, with its leader appearing in the original and detailed journal entries outlining their methods in Assassin of Kings.

Obviously, the Wild Hunt is front and center in the upcoming game. And they are very, very intimidating and sure to give Geralt a run for his money. The cavalry of monsters are seeking a special girl named Siri who shares a kinship with Geralt, and whom the latter is desperately seeking to protect before the Hunt descends upon her. Siri possesses some sort of Elder Blood, which also gives the trailer its name.

Don't Call It A Remake! King's Quest Returns In 2015

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will be a standalone adventure set in the world of the Witcher. Longtime fans will have a lot to look forward to, but newcomers should be able to slide right into the terrific action and processor-heavy graphics with little trouble, though not without a brief period of confusion.

The game is set to be released February 24, 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, but the best experience will be on a $5000 custom-built PC rig that will probably just barely run the thing on low settings. Watch Elder Blood below.
