Amazon Make An Offer: New Feature On Amazon Allows Buyers To Haggle

Amazon Releases Feature That Let’s Buyers Argue Price Down

There's Amazon and then there's the Amazon Marketplace. The latter is a sea of goods out there for the taking. To make the market more competitive, Amazon has released a new feature, "Make an Offer" which will allow shoppers to haggle over the price of items, reports PC World.

Meta Knight Amiibo Available for Pre-Order

This isn't an across the board option. For starters, it is only good for items sold by third parties. Meaning, not Amazon itself. Secondly, right now it's only good for collectible items. These can include fine art, sports jerseys, or beanie babies that are probably still worth nothing. That sort of thing. Currently there are about 150K items that are available for this service listed on the site.

This is not an Ebay like auction. Your offer will not be listed on the site next to everyone else trying to get that limited edition dragon plush. Instead, it sends a notification to the seller privately with your price listed. They can agree to the price or send you another that is more to their liking. Once your bargaining is over and the seller decides to take an agreed upon price, you'll be notified to put the item in your cart.

Amazon plans to expand this service to more products sold by independent sellers. Of course, the option has to be activated by the seller themselves. They have to opt in the world of online bidding and haggling. For now, the service may help consumers grab one of a kind items from Amazon at a price their budget can more readily afford.
