Updated design of Wii U controller image leaked

The Nintendo Wii U is set for worldwide release this holiday season and will be Nintendo's first HD console. Sources have made mention of it being "twice as powerful as the Xbox 360." However, an updated image of the device, containing a new design with more features, leaked ahead of E3 2012, and now gamers are in anticipation of its release.

The tablet appears a little wider, with more space around the D-pad and X/Y/A/B buttons. The Start and Select buttons have moved to the right edge, and the microphone has transitioned from the right of the Home button in the center, to the left. Interestingly, a new unknown square button has appeared beneath the D-pad, along with a second one next to the power button in the lower right-hand corner.

Overall, it seems as though the added features are meant to make the Wii U more user-friendly. E3 2012 will be sure to reveal the pricing and exact availability for the console.
