Ascension Deckbuilding Game PC Version Released On Steam; The Best Card Game On iOS And Android Is Now On Your Desktop

As If You Needed More Reasons To Not Work! Ascension: Deckbuilding Game Is Now Available On PC Via Steam

The calendar says it’s only December 17, but it sure feels like Christmas. Playdek and Stone Blade Entertainment, card game creator extraordinaires, have released their premier title, Ascension: Deckbuilding Game onto PC via Steam.

You may not find bigger advocates for the mobile version of Ascension than GameNGuide. Of all the multitude of titles released onto iOS and Android, that is the one game that we keep returning to day in and day out.

Created by three former Magic: The Gathering tournament pros, Ascension was originally conceived as a tabletop game. It is similar to the deckbuilding title Dominion, in that players do not craft their decks before a match, but build their deck up during one. There are tournaments aplenty for the tabletop version but the ease of use of the digital version makes it the only one to play.

“We’re pleased to bring our first PC game to fans,” said Joel Goodman, CEO, Playdek. “PC gamers can now get the same engaging and strategic Ascension experience that mobile users have enjoyed and made the No. 1 deck-building game on iOS.”

Ascension: Deckbuilding Game is available via Steam for $9.99. The game features 1 to 4 asynchronous, turn based co-operative play and cross platform support. The title comes with the original game, subtitled Chronicle of the Godslayer and the four expansions - Return of the Fallen, Storm of Souls, Immortal Heroes, Rise of Vigil and Darkness Unleashed. All four promo packs, which add special cards for each of the factions, are made available, too.

You can also take it on the go with you via the iOS Store and Google Play.

Hey! Playdek! When can we get this on Mac? I need even more excuses to be less productive.
