John Carpenter's Top Five Games Of 2014: Iconic Horror Director Loves Assassin's Creed Unity

John Carpenter Is A Gamer And Here Are his Favorites For The Year

So a few thing things that I learned today. One, John Carpenter plays video games. Two, his favorites aren't what I would have expected from a man who has made his career out of scaring the crap out of anyone that will watch his movies.

The Weather Outside is Frightful and These Movies Are Too

Giant Bomb has managed to get the iconic horror director to give a list of his top five favorite games for the year. Which is amazing.

Carpenter is known for awesome films and working with Kurt Russell a lot. He made some classic horror movies which included Halloween, They Live, and The Thing. He also made some bad ass science fiction and fantasy ficks like Escape from New York and, my favorite, Big Trouble in Little China. Great films, all of them.

Apparently in his free times he's also dealing death video game style. John Carpenter is just like us.

His favorite games for the year included Assassin's Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, The Evil Within (not surprised by this one), Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Murdered.

John Carpenter plays Borderlands? Yes, yes he does.

I wonder what system he plays on. Is Carpenter a console gamer or PC gamer? Is he hardcore or does he only play for an hour at a time? So many questions I didn't think I would ever ask about him.

You can check out all of his favorite games on your favorite systems right now. Or you can check out Carpenter's movies instead. Either way, you're sure to have a good time.
