Basketball fans, get ready... NBA 2K13 is getting ready to make its grand entrance. Take-Two Interactive officially announced the release date for the acclaimed Basketball video game. Meanwhile, there are rumors circulating that Jeremy Lin will possibly be the next NBA player on the cover.
According to the publisher, NBA 2K13 "will be available on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in North America and October 5, 2012 internationally for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, Wii system and Windows PC. A Wii U version of NBA 2K13 will be available in the launch window, at a later date."
Fans that pre-order NBA 2K13 for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 will receive a new downloadable NBA All-Star content package presented by Sprite.
The NBA 2K franchise has developed to a point of excellence. 2K11 and 2K12, specifically, were very strong installments in terms of presentation and gameplay, and both were hailed as "the best" by IGN in each video review, with a rating of 9.5 out of 10.
Rumors that current New York Knicks Point Guard Jeremy Lin will be the next basketball player on the cover of NBA 2K13, has stirred up a lot of chatter. In February 2012, he shocked the nation when he led a winning streak for New York and was promoted to the starting lineup. Lin is one of the few Asian Americans in NBA history and the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the league.
On NBA2k4life, more people thought that LeBron James should be on the cover of the upcoming 2K installment. Derrick Rose came in 2nd place and Jeremy Lin in 3rd. We can only hope that 2K13 impresses fans entirely... video game cover included.
