Ranked Play uses competitive eSports settings, pitting players against similarly skilled opponents in 4 vs. 4 matches. Ranked offers game modes such as Search & Destroy, Capture the Flag, Uplink, and Hardpoint.

As with many ranked playlists in other games, winning matches earns you points toward being promoted to the next division. Leaving early or losing will result in a loss of points. This inaugural season will end January 31, so you've got until then to win promotions!

The developers provided plenty of information on the ranks, settings, and gametypes. Ranked Play features seven divisions from Bronze to Grand Master (the top 100 players), and promotion requires winning 100 division points and then a three match challenge. Sledgehammer has also created division-based gear to be handed out at the end of each season and used through to the next in all types of multiplayer.

Matchmaking "takes into account if players are predicted to win or lose against opponents", and players are awarded 15 to 25 division points for a victory while losing 10 to 20 for a loss. The massive infographic below lays out the gametypes, maps, match times, specific settings, and more. Ranked Play will go live tomorrow--good luck out there!
