The new trailer for SyFy Channel's Defiance does a little more in-depth at explaning the character side for their TV/MMO hybrid. Following Joshua Nolan (Grant Bowler), a mysterious scruffy drifter, who comes into what used to be St. Louis and now is just struggling to survive on the new alien frontier.
The description goes into further detail about the plot;
"In DefianceTM, the future is a dangerous place. Starship wreckage is raining to Earth in massive "Arkfall" events that transform the landscape. Experience one first-hand as countless other players -- and a star from the Syfy series -- battle to survive and profit. In SyFy's favor, their general method of green screening backgrounds works oddly well with the nature of video gaming, especially when asking for suspension of belief in MMO raids over how something could look exactly like it does on the show. We'll find out in April 2013.
