Crota's End Hard Mode Coming To Destiny In An Update Next Week
Destiny's next update is a big one for high-level players: Hard Mode is coming to the Crota's End Raid.
Next Wednesday, January 21, Bungie will be patching the extra difficult setting into its hugely popular shooter as announced in the Weekly Update. Bungie isn't providing tips as to what's changed with Hard Mode, expecting players to know what what sort of new challenges will be present based on Vault of Glass' Hard Mode.
"I can't give you a playbook for how to end Crota this time," wrote Bungie Community Manager DeeJ. "You don't need my help, anyway. If you've experienced Hard Mode in Vault of Glass, you have some clues for how we can scale up a Raid. Prepare to take better care of your teammates. You'll have fewer options for healing yourself, and each other. The enemies you're about to face are stronger and more prone to temper tantrums. Be brave!"
Sounds tough! DeeJ mentions they might send the first fireteam to finish the challenge gifts from the Bungie Store. Accessing Hard Mode is the same as upping the difficulty on any mission--select it in your Director and choose the higher level (in this case now 33!) on the bar along the bottom.
Rewards include a slew of new themed primary weapons: the Abyss Defiant Auto Rifle, Fang of Ir Yut Scout Rifle, Oversoul Edict Pulse Rifle, and the Word of Crota Hand Cannon. There's also a new ship available, Bane of the Dark Gods, and an exclusive Shader named Glowhoo. The update will go live on January 21 around 10 a.m. Pacific.
