Marvel's Secret Wars has always been known shake up the standard Marvel Universe but this may be the first time that it will cause the total destruction of the Universe as we know it.

Announced during the "Secret Wars Kick-Off" press event, it was confirmed that from Secret Wars #1 out, there would be no world but Battleworld News-A-Rama reported.
"Once we hit Secret Wars #1, there is no Marvel Universe, Ultimate Universe, or any other. It's all Battleworld," Tom Brevoort, Executive Editor confirmed.

It may seem that this may only apply to the time that the miniseries is running. Of course there would only be Battleworld during Secret Wars! It seems that this is not the case that the changes made to the Marvel Universe will be permanent.
The Ultimate Universe will be joining the mainstream to create one unified comic reality. The resulting reality will be combining parts of both universes and creators have hinted that this could mean the return of some dead characters.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Wolverine resurrected. There's some speculation that he's already returned but it's not official so it doesn't count. Regardless, this move seems like it's going to create a major overhaul of Marvel comics.

Secret Wars kicks off in May and apparently it will be the end of everything we knew about the Marvel Universe.
