Gaming Live Beta Launches: Re-Designed Streaming Service Is Now Available, Aims To Take On Twitch

European Streaming Service Gaming Live Launches Its Re-Designed Beta To Take On Twitch

European-based streaming service, Gaming Live, has officially launched its new beta.

First Details And Features Announced For MLB 15: The Show

The company openly declared its intentions to go after Twitch two weeks ago, when it announced that a newly designed beta would be coming in February. The day has arrived, and the service is now streaming gameplay on its website.

Some videos are featured on the home screen, while you can also search by game and channel. The site looks pretty sharp, and the navigation is easy--head over and try it out. There's a lack of English streams given the company's Warsaw base, but that will likely change as the user base expands.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Will Have Hundreds Of Hours Of Gameplay Content

"We are introducing a completely re-designed experience for both content creators and the audience," said Gaming Live COO Krystian Berg. "What we have released today is still only a small part of what we are going to introduce in the coming months to revolutionise the experience of interaction between gamers. We never wanted to be just another boring video platform and we won't disappoint. We're on it."

Twitch is already a giant, but competition is good right? Gaming Live will have a lot of work to do, but there's likely room for both platforms. Its European base will give it a different initial audience than Twitch's, I imagine, which will give it the chance to grow into less contested space before seriously competing for other markets. Selling streamers on using Gaming Live instead of the already popular Twitch platform will be a tough ask, but emering users could also help the service grow.

iOS and Android apps are expected in coming weeks, and the team will continue to grow. Seedcamp invested heavily in Gaming Live, which experienced nine million visits in the past six months.
