'Transformers: Battle Tactics' Releases On iOS And Android Devices Today, Lets You Mix And Match Robots [VIDEO]
They're everywhere. They take many different forms. Your kids love them. They're simple, they're colorful and feature explosions. And they make millions and millions of dollars.
Yes, my friends, they are Free to Play games. Also, Transformers. So it was only a matter of time before the two came together and so they have in Transformers: Battle Tactics, a new turn-based mobile strategy title by DeNA.
Players assemble a four-robot team of either Autobots or Decepticons (75 bots in total), proceeding to "strategically unleash unique powerful abilities and alternate forms to take down their opponents." Unlike the ridiculous films, it seems that Optimus Prime at least is sporting some weapons in his transformed form.
Take down the other team yourself or head to the web and fight your friends. Oh yes, there will be online leaderboards. No word on what the IAP will be for this game, but expect the usual for this sort of thing: timed unlocks, character skins, power ups, XP bonuses, etc.
"Transformers: Battle Tactics celebrates the rich lore and character universe of Transformers Generations and the Combiner Wars story, adding a new twist on their visual styling," said Mark Blecher, SVP Business Development & Digital Gaming at Hasbro, Inc.
You can download the game now for iOS and Android devices. Watch the official launch trailer and get your Marky Mark on. Guys, I think we just found a Transformer. Can't be any worse than Age of Extinction.... right?
