WWDC Lineup Rumors: iOS 6, iPhone 5, 13 inch Macbooks

Apple's World Wide Developers Conference kick starts next week and speculations have been going on for months on what products would be unveiled during the conference. Can we expect iOS 6, more Macbooks, Siri updates, OS X mountain Lion, or an iPhone 5 lined up for the conference?

Apple is expected to unveil its next major operating system update iOS 6 which powers iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, including Apple TV during the conference. It has been rumored that the update will come with Siri technology, the voice assistant software for iPad users.

"We have a great WWDC planned this year and can't wait to share the latest news about iOS and OS X Mountain Lion with developers," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "The iOS platform has created an entirely new industry with fantastic opportunities for developers across the country and around the world," Schiller further added.

The company is expected to announce its new iOS 6 Maps application for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch which will be a Google-free iOS map app and will offer 3D views.

The OS X Mountain Lion is expected to include priority VIP mail with iCloud Tabs, an iCloud feature that can be sync with tabs on Mac Safari and iOS Safari between Macs, iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches.

Apple is also expected to announce a line-up of updates for its MacBook Pro and Air lines along with the iMac and Mac Pro.  New Mac Pro models are likely to be included with Intel Xeon E5 chips.

The redesigned MacBook Pro which may sport the MacBook Air-like design is expected to be built with the new processor with iSight camera and 4G LTE support with 15 inch display. It will also come with high resolution retina display. We can also expect to see the launch of the MacBook Air with 13 inch models and retina display along with two new iMac lines with 21.5 and 27 inch configurations.

Speculations' regarding the MacBook Pro is swirling and an image which showed specifications of the alleged Apple's latest notebook has been leaked and published by Macotakara and reported in Apple Insider.

"The image claims the computer will feature a 2.5 gigahertz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 3 megabytes of L3 cache and Turbo Boost up to 3.1 gigahertz. It also features 4 gigabytes of 1600 megahertz DDR3 SDRAM, a 500 gigabyte 5400-rpm hard drive, and the new Intel HD Graphics 4000 found in the latest Ivy Bridge processors," writes Apple Insider.

Apple has been known for launching its latest technologies or developments during WWDC. However, in the previous year, the company launched its iPhone 4S only in October. So there are possibilities of Apple not unveiling its phone this year too.

There have been speculations of iOS 6 getting launched during the conference and if this is to be believed, who knows Apple may surprise its fans by unveiling iPhone 5.

With Samsung, the biggest threat to Apple in the Smartphone category, already announcing its newest version Samsung Galaxy S3, the company delaying its iPhone 5 might also affect its sales in the market.

According to reports, Samsung has already received 9 million pre-orders for its third-generation Smartphone and this definitely comes as a warning to Apple to make sure that they do not lose out on customers.

With rival companies like Samsung doing pretty well in the market, Apple may wait until October for its iPhone 5 launch, or are they ready for this month. For details on what to be launched, we will have to wait for just a bit as WWDC starts June 11.
