New Dark Knight Rises Marketing: Topless Bane, IMAX Tickets, Old Bat Films, Children Books Spoiler

The anticipation for "The Dark Knight Rises" continues even as various marketing promotions have gone viral as the movie hits the theaters in July.  Warner Bros have announced that IMAX tickets for the movie will begin sales on June 11.

"Tickets for ‪#TheDarkKnightRises will go on sale Monday, 6/11. The legend ends 7/20 in theaters and @IMAX. https://twitpic.com/9stl81 #TDKRtickets," as tweeted by Warner Bros Pictures.

In addition to IMAX tickets for the launch, fans can watch all of Nolan's Batman films in one sitting. The National Amusements' Showcase Cinemas will be hosting "The Dark Knight Marathon" before the launch of the TDKR which will feature the trilogy of Batman films.

"The marathon will feature the complete Christopher Nolan trilogy of Batman films. After presentations of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the marathon will culminate with a 12:01 a.m. showing of The Dark Knight Rises. All three films will be shown for the combined price of $25 per ticket. The Dark Knight Marathon will begin on Thursday, July 19 at 6:15 p.m," reported CNBC.

The running time on all the films will make the event a true marathon.  Nolan's Batman Begins running time comes out to 141 minutes, The Dark Knight is 153 minutes, and The Dark Knight Rises 163 minutes.  Tally up all three films and you'll be spending nearly 8 hours with the caped crusader.

Books have also been published in promoting The Dark Knight Rises.  A Batman movie book titled "The Dark Knight Rises: The Secret Files Scrapbook" was released revealing details about the storyline with new images and descriptions about each character. Some new images show a topless Bane holding a weapon standing among a group of armed prisoners. Potential spoilers about Bane and Catwoman were listed within the character descriptions.

Another released series of The Dark Knight Rises children books titled "The Dark Knight Rises: I Am Bane" and "The Dark Knight Rises: Batman Versus Catwoman" also contains potential spoilers for the two characters.  The spoiler information is posted at the end of the article.

Other marketing strategies for the movie involve TDKR and Chrysler teaming up to give fans an opportunity to create a TV spot representing the brands. Fans will get once in a lifetime opportunity to win a trip to Hollywood and produce the spot.  The winner will also get to attend the premiere of the movie. The contest is set to begin on June 15.

The sequel to "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" broke records with $158.4 million during its opening weekend in 2008, and "The Dark Knight Rises" is set to break its own record when it hits theaters July 20, 2012.

"Little is known about Bane. He was born in prison and trained in the darkest forms of deception by the League of Shadows, but rumor has it he was cast out due to his extreme behavior. Bane is a ferocious hand-to-hand fighter who is willing to do anything in order to take down his opponents. Bane is in peak physical shape, but he must wear a breathing apparatus that feeds him with pain relieving gas due to an old injury. He's never been photographed without his mask and only a handful of people have seen his face. While his true motives remain a mystery, he appears to be building an army of followers in the dark tunnels underneath Gotham in order to create his own League of Shadows," wrote The Dark Knight Rises: The Secret Files Scrapbook.

"Selina Kyle is a world-class cat burglar and mistress of disguise. She's cunning and devious, but has a deep sense of honor. As Catwoman, she targets Gotham's wealthiest. Her weapons usually include infrared goggles, bladed high-heel boots, and a belt filled with lock picks," added The Dark Knight Rises: The Secret Files Scrapbook.

The Children's book also revealed Bane's plot in the movie.

"Bane is a super-villain with a bad attitude. When he decides to take over the Gotham City Stock Exchange, the city's in big trouble! Can Batman get there in time to save the day?"

As for Catwoman, the book wrote:

"There's a ferocious feline in town, and she's out to steal from Gotham's wealthy citizens. Unfortunately, Catwoman makes a mistake when she visits venerable citizen Bruce Wayne and takes Bruce's prized family heirloom. She thinks she made a clean escape . . . but she doesn't know who she toyed with!"
