After a successful tournament presentation last October, Swedish eSports channel Viagame has announced that the second House Cup tournament for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will be taking place this March.

World Of Warcraft Patch 6.1 Hits Servers Next Week!

Sixteen players will enter a house in Stockholm, Sweden and, in what fits the template of a horror movie, only one player will survive. Well, at the very least he or she will walk away with the majority of a $25,000 pot.

The House Cup will also be awarding the maximum of 230 points among players for qualification to the Hearthstone World Championship later this year.

Viagame will host a qualifier match on February 28 and March 7 to whittle down the 256 member candidate pool to the final 16. More information will follow next week as we draw closer to the day. Be sure to follow updates on the official Viagame website.

Despite being less than a year old, Hearthstone is gigantic. Call it that Blizzard magic, but this game is absolutely out of control. Even Dota 2, which has been around for years, hasn't had this kind of market penetration. At this rate, only League of Legends (itself inspired by Dota, which was based on a Warcraft III map) and Starcraft 2 will be bigger than the F2P CCG.

The finals of the House Cup Hearthstone tournament will be broadcast live in English, and will be available globally on www.viagame.com and other platforms.

While it might be a little late to start training and advancing in the ladder rankings, you can download Hearthstone now for free and prepare yourself for Viagame's House Cup 3, coming sometime later.
