Assassin's Creed 3 Marketing: Connor's Lover, Real-Life Tomahawk and Statue

Ubisoft is going full steam with its latest marketing for their upcoming game Assassin's Creed 3. Developers have leaked more info on an official podcast while third party companies are selling merchandise such as a real life hidden blade used in the games, actual size tomahawk, and life-sized statue of the game's protagonist Connor Kenway.

In the 47 minute podcast, developers at Ubisoft hinted at a possible love interest for Connor in the new Assassin's Creed 3 game. Other conversation topics included the combat system and weapons employed by the assassin. Connor will use an array of weapons including a bow and arrow, tomahawk, rope dart, and hidden blade.

Fans who wish to own a real life weapon can check out a replica of the tomahawk used by Connor called the "Assassin's Tomahawk - Honor the Creed." The distinct design of the tomahawk's blade forms an A shape made of steel. The handle is crafted from wood and wrapped with faux leather grips. The weapon can be purchased for $40 at Deals Only Web Store, or for $45 at hanzoswords.com.

Another weapon fans can own is the Assassin's Creed signature hidden blade employed by Ezio di Auditore from past titles. The hidden blade mimics the one in the game measuring 15 inches long equipped with spring loading action. Assassin's Creed fans can experience extending and retracting the iconic blade used to conduct assassinations throughout history. Though don't expect the blade to do too much damage as it is made of plastic. The hidden blade can be purchased for $40.

Fans looking to for a larger than life way to express their love for Assassin's Creed can invest in a life-size statue of Connor from Amazon. The statue stands 6 feet 6 inches tall dressed in the signature Assassin's Creed hood strapped with an bow and arrow. Those who wish to own one can head to Amazon and answer quiz questions for chance to win.

Merchandise marketing followed Ubisoft's released video ads with ad firm Sid Lee. One live action video spot featured actors portraying the ideal of rebellion while the other featured gameplay showcasing naval battleships, epic battlefields, and hand to hand combat with Red Coat soldiers.

Assassin's Creed 3 is set to be released on October 30, 2012 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
