Apple Looking To Compete With PlayStation And Xbox With Their Upcoming Apple TV

Apple has dominated the tech industry except the gaming part of it. But in recent reports, the Cupertino-based giant is somewhat looking to dethrone the PlayStation and Xbox as kings of the console games. Alongside its iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 (or iPhone 6s Plus) formal launch this September, rumor has it that they will also launch their newest Apple TV device.

The Apple TV will be equipped with state of the art features similar to the ones on their handheld devices, or to make it simple, the Apple TV is somewhat like a blown out iPhone with a remote control. What added fuel to the rumor that Apple is looking to compete with Sony and Microsoft with regards to the gaming world is the fact that Apple's third-generation TV will support a remote that has a built in motion sensor. This sensor will allow the viewers to steer a car like a Wii controller.

To add, the new Apple TV is also rumored to support a third party dedicated gaming controllers which will give the viewers the ability to play games, downloadable from an Apple TV dedicated app store. The dedicated Apple TV app store is also rumored to allow Apple gamers to get and download their mobile device games into the TV, and make them play it, via the Apple TV.

On the other hand, Sony and Microsoft have been trying to outwit and outsmart one another since time immemorial. If they will not treat this as a threat, they might be opening the door to another competitor, a formidable one, at that.

PlayStation and Xbox revolutionized the game console platforms by enhancing its gameplay, graphics, and experience. However, Apple is also been known to invest tons of money and resources into their product, so it won't be a big surprise if they will introduce a game console sooner than expected.

The new Apple TV is expected to be dropped at $200 apiece.
