The Taken King Books All Time Download Numbers, Claims Activision, Experts Doubt It

Bungie's The Taken King, Destiny's biggest expansion so far, has set a new record when it was released in the market last Wednesday. The Taken King booked the most downloaded video game in any PlayStation 4 history in just one day.

The confirmation came from Activision's chief, Eric Hirshberg, and said that The Taken King has officially broken the records for the most downloaded game for the game console's history. He went on to thank their partner Bungie, the game's developer and was optimistic with the game's slate in the next coming days.

On the other side of the fence, industry experts are in doubts with Activision's claim since they have yet to provide the exact numbers of downloads for The Taken King. But experts are quick to turn around and say that in essence they have a valid claim but until the real numbers are shown, doubt will be inevitable.

In fact, this was not the first instance Activision was accused of claiming a hit without providing any concrete numbers. When Activision released the blockbuster game Call of Duty, they have the same claim that it booked the highest number of sales in a short span of time.

There were also reports that there were efforts to get the exact number from Activision but up until now, there were none or Activision has yet to return their calls. The world known publisher, although they are absolutely excellent in what they do, is also notoriously known in claiming something that without even providing the exact numbers.

Nonetheless, either record-breaking or not, Destiny's latest expansion, The Taken King, is a good addition to the Destiny family as it offers new experience for the successful franchise as well as provide new fixes on the issues that Destiny has been facing for the longest time.
