Kindle Fire 2 Release: Will 10 inch HD Screen Counter Nexus 7, iPad Mini?

Amazon, the online website giant, is rumored to rollout the Kindle Fire 2 in a fight to control their market share. Kindle Fire 2 will be their second-generation tablet in the Kindle Fire series.

Facing competitors such as Google will be a challenging task for the established Amazon tablet.  Google's Nexus 7, priced at $152 and featuring a 1280×800 resolution with quad-core processor, is the best budget tablet in the current small tablet market. Nexus 7 is 18 percent lighter than the Kindle Fire and includes GPS, Bluetooth, and camera, which the Kindle Fire lacks. Other features of Nexus 7 are quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1280x800 HD display, and 8-hours of battery life.

Rumors say that the Kindle Fire 2 may have a 7 inch display and priced less than the Nexus. There have been reports of Nexus 7 having a larger screen, up to 10 inch. A report also suggested that Kindle Fire 2 will have HD display with improved RAM and better processor like quad-core.  The Kindle Fire 2 may also need to match the Nexus 7's possible larger display. It might have 1280 x 800 HD pixels display and would need to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.  The new Kindle Fire 2 looks to feature a richer Android experience along with Amazon customizations based on its digital stores.

Kindle Fire has been one of the best in the $200 tablet market. But slump in sales may look to blame the device's lacking camera and memory card slot. Amazon plans to ramp up its Kindle Fire 2 with upgraded hardware and software to go with a front-facing or rear-facing camera.

Additional competition may emerge from Apple's camp.  The iPad creator has plans to bring out iPad Mini which will cater to users preferring smaller tablets. But the rest of the competitors must play a secondary role when it comes to tablets as iPad has set benchmarks in the tablet industry.

Amazon's Kindle Fire will look to differentiate itself from the iPad Mini's offering if Apple decides to enter the smaller tablet market.  It will join a crowded competitive party with Google and Amazon currently duking it out for the top spot.
