Minecraft: Story Mode Makes its Way to the Wii U

Mark your calendars! Minecraft: Story Mode will be officially released this Thursday, 21st of January! This week, the crowd-favorite makes its debut on the Wii U. Wii U players can now get their hands on Telltale Game's newest addition to the Minecraft family.

The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, "The Order of the Stone," is the first time that Telltale launched on Wii U. Although the company has added plenty of games on the Wii, the Wii U has been left out for some reason. The Wii U version was specifically made for the console, it includes features specially made for the Wii-U, for example off-TV play, mirroring, gamepad touchscreen controls and many more.

Wii U players are now able to purchase "The Order of the Stone" for $4.99 from Nintendo's eShop in both North America and Europe. However, the other episodes won't be available anytime soon. A season pass for all five episodes will be available for ony $19.99 and allows users instant access to all Minecraft: Story Mode episodes once they become available.

Minecraft: Story Mode  is already available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One as an interactive point-and-click adventure game which shares the same characteristics as Telltale's other games, such as The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands. The objective of the game is to collect items, solve puzzles and engage in dialogue and choices that affect the game's storyline and determine its outcome.

The only difference with Telltale's other titles though is the fact that Minecraft: Story Mode is family-friendly, so people won't randomly die or get cut to shreds as seen in The Walking Dead.  The game also features crafting and building which is practically the overall essence of Minecraft. Minecraft wasn't built with a story though, but Telltale wanted to create a story around its crafting, building and community themes. Players of Minecraft have been requesting for this game for quite a while now and this week, the epic building game makes its way to the Wii U.
