'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date & Gameplay: 5 Things PS4 & Xbox One Players Need to Know

"Final Fantasy 15," the next in Square Enix's action role-playing series, is set to arrive at the PS4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016. Followers of the series would be glad to know that the game has a lot to offer - an installment hardcore fans would not want to miss. Before you become the Noctis set to reclaim Lucis from the imperial army, here are five good things to know about the series and its upcoming game:

1. It's been around for 30 years.

Yes - you read that right. For those who may not know, the series started back in 1986, GameZone says, as a swan song that eventually saw its glory in the 1990's. Since then, the franchise spawned numerous spinoffs that proved to benefit its expanding world and narrative.

What does this mean for series newcomers? Well, the upcoming installment promises a "brand new kind of fantasy" vibrant in the world of Eos, where combat skills and magic interplay in the fulfilment of a noble mission.

2. "Final Fantasy 15" has the best graphics in the series.

It may be too early to claim, but Gaming Bolt is convinced that the upcoming title will look stunning, as inscribed in the series. According to the outlet, Square Enix is indeed very confident at how good the game will look, as director Hajime Tabata is clearly aware that consumers are expecting "exceptional graphics."

3. There's plenty to look forward to.

Tabata has shared more details about the game, particularly its DLC and PC version, DualShockers reports in translation. This DLC is said to be nothing ordinary, with an announcement expected in summer. The PC version, on the other hand, aims to meet "a new technical level."

4. It's a universe.

As cited by The Telegraph, the upcoming title is not just a game to Square Enix, but a universe. And what's inside a universe? Prospects can expect a feature movie, anime series and smartphone app ahead of the September release, the outlet notes.

5. It's now available to preorder.

Gamers can now secure their copy of "Final Fantasy 15" as it is available to preorder. There are four editions for sale: (1) Day One, (2) Deluxe, (3) Ultimate Collector's and (4) Digital. For more information, head over here.
