"Dishonored 2," the sequel to Bethesda's first-person, action-adventure title, is available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC beginning November 11, 2016. At this point, it is no secret that prospects can choose to play either Corvo Attano or Emily Kaldwin, but what do they really have in store for the game?
For newcomers, note that Corvo is the franchise's original protagonist, but Emily comes into picture with her own set of special abilities. Players will remember her as the daughter of the slain Empress - now grown-up to become a powerful leader herself.
On the other hand, Corvo's powers are variations of those he had in the original game, PCGamer says, and what seems to be challenging is the fact that he will have to learn them again. Why he needs to relearn them has not been revealed.
"Dishonored 2" is also paying more attention to non-lethal gameplay. Harvey Smith, creative director at Arkane, said via Game Informer, "After talking to thousands of Dishonored players over the past few years, one of the things we really wanted to do was branch out all of the powers into a tree so if you are a non-lethal player you can take the power and express in the direction of non-lethal or stealth."
It is also worth noting that the next installment will feature a star-studded voice cast. The original title saw the participation of Chloe Grace-Moretz, Lena Headey and Susan Sarandon, TechnoBuffalo recalls. Now, it will bring in actors from TV shows such as "Daredevil" and "Game of Thrones," through Rosario Dawson (playing Dreadful Wale Captain), Vincent D'Onofrio (playing Duke of Serkonos) and Pedro Pascale (playing Howler Gang Leader).
The world premiere of the title's gameplay is slated for appearance at Bethesda's 2016 E3 Showcase, which will take place in Los Angeles on June 12 from 7PM PST. Those staying at home can catch the live stream here and here.
